On the edge - a study of mildura roadside stalls
During the four week residency at The Art Vault, I documented 31 sites around the city, attempting to capture a community in flux. Changes in council policy around the management of roadside stalls now threaten these important community shops. Drought has forced boats on dry dock. Working with printer Antonia Aitken, we further developed five of the Daily drawings into aquatint etchings. Each print conveys a feeling of nostalgia and loss - capturing these sites around the city that are under threat of closer or development.

The Daily in Mildura
The 2011 residency at The Art Vault provided the space and time to further develop The Daily series of drawings that I began in the autumn of 2010 in Hill End. The Daily are mostly plein air, ink on card drawings that are completed within the day. Although I strive to do a drawing a day, it's usually only during residencies I'm afforded the time and space to draw each day. Special thanks to the Art Vault and staff for their support and commitment to my project.
