Spark a Reaction

26 September 2020 - 11 April 2021
Spark A Reaction is a collaborative exhibition of posters by NSW South Coast community & Wendy Murray. The series of poster making workshops were held in Nowra in September 2020. The artists experimented with poster making techniques and shared stories about the previous summer’s fires along the South Coast. Drawing inspiration from the handmade signs made during the last fire season - when communities messaged one another, the RFS and political leaders in public spaces – the artists sparked this series of quick response posters. Colby Country

9 - 30 June 2018
Established by Herbert Lee Colby in 1948, the Colby Poster Printing Company (Colby) operated as a three-union, family print shop until 2012. While visiting The International Printing Museum, Carson, CA, USA in 2017, I stumbled across the Colby archive. This discovery set about an intense research period of documentation, interviews, archive and field research to establish the impact of Colby posters on popular culture. It was a privilege to work with the Colby wood type, image blocks and posters at The International Printing Museum during the summer of 2018. VIEW »
